my first international blog...

so im writing from a place called the mayfield guest house in nairobi kenya. we have been staying here for about a week, and so far we have had a pretty enjoyable experience. the people we are meeting at the guesthouse are great, the food is descent, the weather is perfect (overcast/cloudy). no mosquitoes. well maybe one or two.

yesterday we returned from a 4 day safari. the first two and half days we spent with a polish couple who just started a 7 month journey around the world. it was fun hanging with them. we spent nights at the camp playing farkle and flicking bugs off of each other (and sometimes at each other).

nairobi might be the scariest city i've ever been in. possibly because everyone keeps warning us and telling us not to go out at night - even the locals. but we havent had much trouble walking around to local shops and the orphange we are volunteering at. and we've been lucky enough to have some people showing us around.

im not crazy about tiny children, but these kids are pretty flippin cute. photos and maybe some stories when i return in a week...

what is farkle? Does that rhyme with sparkle or Barkley?
