Portland/Seattle

Stephanie spent about a month at her dad's place in portland, and i went to visit last week. i really like portland - despite all the weird people and being assaulted at every street corner to sign some petition, spare some change, or join green peace.

highlights include:
breakfast at pine state biscuits
japanese gardens
the view from her dad's house
day trip to seattle via amtrak (my first ever visit to seattle)
powell's book store (and finding a copy of The Asian Journal of Thomas Merton)
probably other things i can't think of at the moment.
