while staying at the mayfield guest house in nairobi we met quite a lot of interesting people with crazy stories. and with these people we were able to do and see things we might not have otherwise been able to... a walk through kibera and tea in one of the houses, a matatu ride to the national museum, buying new sweatshirts for 25 boys in what was basically a street boy jail, dinner at carnivore and so much more.
but the people we probably logged the most time with was a polish couple we met on safari. kenya was their first stop on a 7 month trip around the world. im jealous. we shared a van with them on the first two days in masai mara. which, by the way, the roads from nairobi to masai mara are horrendous. it was fun to have a trip with other people. they seemed pretty fun and easy going. back at the camp they taught us how to play farkle - a dice game (i have played before but forgot the rules), which ended up being a fun night time activity that kept us out of what was the shadiest longings i've ever experienced.
after masai mara we parted ways, they were on to tanzania while we went up to lake nakuru. the roads were infinitely better. you can read the polish couple's blog here - i posted the the google translated site which is pretty entertaining in its own right. we ended up buying our own set of dice a few days later.
here are a few photos from lake nakuru...
