more blogs about books

i just finished a book by henri nouwen called, "The Genesee Diary". basically he spent 7 months (in '74 i think) in a trappist monastery and this is his diary. the result is my favorite book of his that i have read and more underlining, circling, etc than i have ever done in a book. i recommended it to my counselor and she said she was going order it. this will be the second book she's read based on my suggestion.

here is a random underlining:
"On this earth the experience of great beauty always remains mysteriously linked with the experience of great loneliness"

while we are on the subject, here is a list of other books that i have loved (just in case you are looking for something to read or a reason to judge me):

Gilead Marilynne Robinson
A Moveable Feast Ernest Hemingway
Down and Out in Paris and London George Orwell
Desolation Angels Jack Kerouac
Atop an Underwood Jack Kerouac
Winesburg, Ohio Sherwood Anderson
The Daring Young Man on the Flying Trapeze William Saroyan
East of Eden John Steinbeck

I'll have to hit your up for more recommendations when I'm done with school in December. I finally got around to reading "On the Road" and "Dharma Bums" a few months ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of them.
