a good afternoon

i often wish i had a large front porch with wooden - preferably rocking - chairs where i can sit and read and think or not think. but because i am lacking the aforementioned porch i have to resort to other means. i thought about laying a blanket out on the lawn, but eventually sat on the couch in the entry way with the front door open reading about hell. and then reading other things. and then reading a book that a great person brought over and left for me to have [or left for me to borrow, or accidentally left and i just took - either way it was nice and today i felt bad for not saying thank you more sincerely].

so after a little bit of reading in the entry way -which i am now tempted to refer to as the porch- i went over to the library to read in the court yard. or garden - i really wouldnt know a courtyard if i saw one. and it was such a lovely day. i have been wanting to travel lately. i have been disappointed that i am not. but i thought to myself: if i was in portugal or romania right now this is exactly what i would want to be doing - sitting, reading, watching, enjoying existence, rejoicing in beauty and saying thank you. some people are good at making the most of any given circumstance. someday i would like to be one of those people.

do you ever randomly think of some event in your past that you havent thought of for like 8 years? i read something in the library garden that reminded me of an occurrence when i was in high school. there were 6 or 7 guys driving around north irvine or tustin in a suburban. all of us 10th-12th grade i think, all of us "student leaders" - whatever that meant, at a local, large church, driving in undeveloped parts of orange county on an unmarked one lane road as the sun is setting. for some reason someone says that if you drive exactly 45 mph (i dont remember the exact number, but let's just say its 45) and you cup your hand and stick it out into the air, it feels like a boob. so now there is a suburban driving around in the middle of nowhere with 7 arms, hands cupped, sticking out the window. all of us completely aware of how ridiculous this is, but its funny. yelling at the driver for going too fast or too slow. it has to be exactly 45. and no one confirming nor denying if it actually does feel like a boob.

hopefully someone else will find that funny.

i would love to come to your house and sit in the entryway and read with you...or in the front yard, but not under the cockroach tree...no conversation required...

p.s. you can keep it...but brian olsen can't...so be secretive about it...

I don't think that's funny. Not at all, perv. I respect women. That's the quickest road to scoring.

omg. that is one of the all time funniest things ever. see, non-christian boys (and some naughty christian ones) just go ahead and touch actual boobs. "good christian boys" have to make up stories about what they think boobs feel like and then get other guys to believe it and test it out for themselves. well, brian, here's to you getting married one of these days and getting to feel up your wife for reals. cheers! :P
