city of roses

so, temperatures have been fairly low lately, which i enjoy. i like wearing jackets over sweatshirts, and seeing my breath in the cold. last week was pretty stressful and i have been feeling a little low, but a couple days ago it rained - briefly, and i loved it.
so i decided i want to move to portland. i've only been there for like a day. but i fell in love quickly. i tend to do that - become completely emotional invested as quick as i possibly can (in the few rare things/people i decide are worth it). throw caution to the wind as they say. there is no good reason for this . i just want to. seattle has moved to many times already. i realize donald miller is from portland, but i still want to move there. since there is no reason to go, it's mostly just a fun thing to tell people. i just got an email from a girl i met on a plane presenting the facts and figures of how the cost of living in downtown portland is cheaper than, say, san diego, or irvine - salaries and taxes etc included in the figuring. she probably is not that trust worthy of a source being that she does not live in portland.

i dont really know how to end this blog. everything is as it always has been.

I've found that the places you fall in love with in just a day are the places you will love living forever.

Be weary of the places you go on vacation...they are always more romantic because you are not actually "living" there. You are relaxing, eating, enjoying free time. If you had to go to work, grocery shop, make dinner, etc...well, you might as well be in Mission Viejo where it's NOT raining and it's 30 degrees warmer.

If you move to Portland you should marry my friend Kara and have deep-thinking, artistic, witty, and sardonic children. And you should keep a bed or couch open for me always.
